The meaning of swartha is that you look for you self and Tirtha is that you look for others needs also.
Most of us would say the work/decision that you have taken is not for yours need but it is the need of some close to you.. but most of the cases it would include the need of mine when I make decisions..
-> A man with two kids making decision to marry again (after loosing the first wife), this include need of a man and need of kids. It will be unfair to say that the second marriage is to take care of kids for his/her personal need.
It will be very hard to have a decision where only one will benefit..
