I believe it is more of law of a nature to have a replacement. The replacement could be in the form of reducing the dependency or having some thing in place which is dropped out.
If you look in any organization the position will be refilled or will be removed (if there is no dependency) once person leaves the organization (Person leaving the organization include he leaving the world.).
Same case in personal life also, we may not replace the person as fast as organization replaces but definitely we look forward for either reducing the dependency or ask others to full fill our needs.
Nothing stops having missed some one.. It is hard to find some one who does not look for the replacement and try to do the things him self that are must to make the living.
